Refining is the purification of precious metals by chemicals, electrochemical and pyro metallurgical processes. IGR chooses the most suitable method based on the initial purity of the metal. This specific method is then applied in order to obtain the closest purity to 100%.

The refinery section also conducts scrap, rhodium and "Dore" gold and silver refining. Due to the diligence shown through the process 100% purity of precious metal is regained as raw material.

Refinery of platinum, silver, gold and palladium is made from scrap raw material and Dore bullion from mines are also refined in the Production Department. The following products are produced in this department;

• Gold at purity of 995,0
• Silver at purity of 999,0
• Platinum and palladium at purity of 999,0
